Stara Planina, August 2011

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Stara Planina, literally “Old Mountain”, or Balkan, is a mountain range in Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula, after which the peninsula is named. It extends westward from eastern Serbia to the Black Sea to the east. Stara Planina is situated along the entire length of Bulgaria and divides the country into Northern and Southern Bulgaria. The highest peak is Botev (2,376 m). In its territory are situated many natural parks and protected areas.

We visited the waterfall "Vidimsko Pruskalo" and climbed the "Mara Gidik" peak (1889m.)
